Killure Road Cyclists and Pedestrians Practice
Check for a cyclist before your left turn. An intermediate scene set at Killure Road · R708 in Waterford.
The situation
A cyclist is close to your left rear quarter. Use mirrors and a blind-spot check; identify them in the scene before making your turn.
What makes it tricky
The cyclist is still in your turning path. Let them travel clear first.
The rule
Signalling left does not require a cyclist to give way to you. Complete your turn only when it will not endanger them.
- Rules of the Road, Section 19 · Respecting other road users (Cyclists and motorcyclists)
Getting it right
Your observations found the cyclist before you crossed their path.
