Kingsmeadow Roundabout Practice
Take the first exit to the left. An intermediate scene set at Cork Road · R680 in Waterford.
The situation
You are approaching a two-lane roundabout. Traffic is circulating from your right. Take the first exit when it is safe.
What makes it tricky
A car is approaching from your right. Keep behind the yield line until its path is clear.
The rule
For a first exit to the left: left lane, and signal left as you approach and until you leave. Follow the signs and lane arrows at the actual roundabout; an indicator never gives priority.
- Rules of the Road, Section 9 · Junctions and roundabouts
Getting it right
You yielded to circulating traffic and signalled left for the first exit.
What is marked here
A tester marking this situation would be looking at 6 things:
- Mirrors
- Signals
- Observation
- Right of way
- Position
- Progress
This is a simplified teaching diagram at a real road. It isn't a test route and it isn't navigation. Always follow the actual signs, markings and conditions on the road.
